NEVER insert large Images in TEXT Boxes!

Mouseover Buttons

These on the left are mouseover buttons and are made up of two images. They are linked together by HTML code. These can also be linked to any file, webpage, email etc...
As you learn more about websites and the internet and how it works, it becomes easier to understand HTML. Really when you think about it, it's common sense! It seems everything links together!

In the Head banner & Footer section you can incorporate this effect by adding a mouseover image. Its a pity really? As I would have liked to use it on my webpages to.

One of the safest ways to insert your email address is to use a .swf button. There are lots of programs for sale on the net with the ability to produce buttons like the one on the right.

New Features (Evo 8)

As you delve deeper into Evo 8 you will find all sorts of "New Features"
Take timeout to read the manual? I know when I first started with X5 I didn't even look at the manual for months. But this time with Evo 8 you "NEED" to find out exactly what is incorporated!
Take the images for example? I'm not going to list what's inside and how to use them, two examples are on the left! These features are unique to say the least??

JPG Vs GIF

To explain this simply? A jpg is just one layer and is the most used friendly image on the net. A gif on the other hand is a compilation of layers, giving their names usually to animations and transparencies. A gif is usually made up of jpg images, sandwiched together to give the effect of a movement. You can split this kind of image into the various sections it took to make the animation. There are gif image splitters and builders which you can use for FREE on the net.
Examples to the right!

MojoMagnify - Free JavaScript Image Magnifier
This is a test of the MojoMagnify Javascript Image Magnifier script.
Move the mouse over the image to see it in action. The first image uses a larger version to get a magnification effect. The image is also automatically made to link to the high res version (if the image is not already a link).

Also check out the related MojoZoom Image Zoom script on the website.
Current version: 0.1.7

Watermarks!
(IF you don't want people to have it... Don't put it on the Net!)

Watermark your images! This actually stops visitors from downloading your photos/images. This is one of the easiest ways to protect your work. The video camera & car grill above has a copyright logo inserted into it, made by my "Famous" program Paint.net and you can do this to all your images. Ok I know it takes time but it gives ultimate protection. When you watermark any image, insert it right over the subject. Do NOT put it to oneside? Its quite easy to remove in that position. One of the latest websites I've found to start using this technique is "Moonpig" if you have heard of it? Go to Watermark page for more info...

Converting a JPG to Transparency!

This transparency was made by Paint.net and you can do this to all your images. Convert a JPG into a GIF or a PNG for the transparency effect. There is a pictured tutorial on the right which is simple to follow.
But just to reiterate! Introduce your image to your paint program. Select (Magic Wand) the part of the image you would like to make transparent (Usually the background) press delete or Edit/Cut and you should see a change in the image. Now save as a GIF or a PNG these two support transparencies. You can now insert into your website with any colored background.
On the otherhand? You can color fill the background in any color you require to match the webpage (Paint Bucket). I would recommend saving as JPG again after color fill as this is a more web friendly format.
By altering the Layer Properties you can make the image into a ghost effect (See right)

See Backgrounds

Special Effects

Once made into a GIF format you can now follow the shape of the image with special effects. Inside the image box click Edit and see all the effects you can perform. These on the left are Outer Glow and Drop Shadow.
NB: Insert large images in image boxes only!! Do NOT insert large images in TEXT boxes. (Keep them small)

GOOD TIP: If you are modifying any image? Keep the original! So for example; If the original image is called: Badge.jpg When you have finished working on it Save as: Badge2.jpg, Badge2.gif etc... Especially if you "RESIZE" it!!
