How Do I Make A Small Email Mailing List?
(See Buttons page for contact options)
By creating your own e-mail mailing list, you can send copies of a message to a large or small group of recipients. It’s a handy way to keep in touch with family or work groups or to distribute a newsletter to people who share your interest in a particular topic.
Collect the e-mail addresses of the people you want to send email to. Open your e-mail program and save these names as a group. Look for a function that is called something like Address Book, Contacts or Nicknames. Name the group and enter your recipients’ e-mail addresses separated by commas or semicolons. Click Save. Note that many e-mail programs require that you enter all of the individual addresses to your Address Book before you can add them to a group. Open a new message and address it to yourself.
Add the subject and body of the message. Put the group e-mail addresses in the field marked BCC (blind carbon copy). Your e-mail software should allow you to do this automatically from the Address Book or from the Nickname function. If it doesn’t, copy the list and paste it in the BCC field of your message.
Click Send. The original message will be sent to you, as you entered your own address in the To field. Each member of the group will receive a copy of the message.
Using the BCC field instead of the CC field allows the messages to be sent without showing each recipient the e-mail addresses of the other recipients. However, not all e-mail programs support the BCC feature. Some free e-mail services operate by inundating you with advertising e-mail messages from their sponsors; others make you view ads on the screen. To avoid being accused of spamming, include only addresses of people who have agreed to receive your messages.
A Commercial Emailing List
OK! So your list is growing all out of proportion? What do you do? Well to answer this, you can go a number of ways. Above is useful for friends etc.. but for your business you need emailing tools. (You need to generate an email list. This will bring you more income as the people who sign on for your newsletter, updates etc.. are already interested in your wares (Same as a Blog) Aweber is one of the biggest emailing management systems on the net! BUT? It costs money! If ever you receive an email from an entrepreneur more than likey his URL would be: http://clicks.aweber.... this is the ultimate mangement system I think because it takes care of all your needs: payments etc...
For someone in business with a small turnover, you don't want added expenses do you? So I've found MAILCHIMP it's my kinda price FREE! BUT? It only sends up to 500 people, after that you have to start paying. (It also has a subscription email management control and lots of newsletter templates which you can use) There's a newsletter facility incorporated which again is far superior to some of the programs I've used in the past. OK it takes a bit of work to make it function to your liking but it is a cheaper alternative to paying $$$$ every month! (This also has all the tools for your website, even down to inserting a contacts box on the website! This option is for the FREE version as well. Being here in the Advanced User and know about servers etc.. it should be quite simple for you to set up!)
Another program is SENDBLASTER if the online mail system isn't for you? Download this great prog for FREE!!
Autoresponders
Use autoresponders to let your members or visitors know that you do intend to contact them in the near future after they have taken the time to email you in the first place. This tool can be found usually in the Hosting Control Panel of your website. (Its also quite easy to set up for each email address you use)
