Do you know WHERE your Project is?

Through the years I've been using X5
I have NEVER lost a project I know EXACTLY where it is
And who it belongs to!!

Single Project.....
My very first project was my own personal website and the title was: Franks Website (Obviously)
I inserted a folder on
C: Drive called: MyWebsite and saved the IWP to this location. I named my IWP FranksWebsite (This was my first project remember) So the selection I made in the X5 project list was:

C:\MyWebsite\FranksWebsite.iwp

This was easy for me to locate as the selection list in my then X5 v7 held quite a few projects. The next question was? Where do I put my images I had collected from the internet? I then inserted another folder on the
C: Drive NEXT to my project folder called: MyWebsiteImages (So the location was C:\MyWebsiteImages)

This worked great! As I collected images and knew exactly where all my images were. This is a great way to find your project instantly and your images are next door so to speak.

Then I was asked to Create more and more Projects!

I want it now.....
There came a time when other people recognized what I could do and asked me to create a website for them. I found I could build a basic website in a weekend and that's what people wanted? They didn't want to wait 2-3 weeks they wanted it there and then!! And X5 was my secret weapon!!

So this is what I do for each (Multiple) projects:

1) Put a folder on
C: Drive called: Customers (or friends)
2) Insert other folders inside for each project
3) Name the folder? Example:
JoeBloggsHotel (Or JoeBloggsPlumber etc..)
4) Inside the JoeBloggsHotel folder insert
another folder called: Website
5) Now make the project and save it as
JBHotel.iwp inside the website folder

That's it! So in effect you have each of their websites in their OWN folder and when you select it in the X5 selection list it will say exactly what it is so you recognize it instantly:

C:\Customers\JoeBloggsHotel\Website\JBHotel.iwp

The JoeBloggsHotel folder also holds ALL your images (See Above) for that project so when you have finished the project and you have batched processed the website into the website folder. You can then save the WHOLE folder (Website and Images) to a disc, USB stick or online bank. After a while and many projects later just place the
CUSTOMERS folder on a disc etc... and archive for future reference.

It does sound complicated when you first read it? BUT if you follow it step by step you will find out how easy it is! And you'll be able to locate each project in turn.
(I have found out just recently that Evo 8 is
NOT holding more than one project in the selection list?)
